WeDay Vancouver 2012

October 18, 2012 • Rogers Arena

I had the privilege of being one of the official photographers for WeDay Vancouver - 2012. It was a simply amazing, empowering, encouraging and overall uplifting event.
With a star studded line up that included: Magic Johnson, Shawn Desman, One Republic, Desmond Tutu, My name is Kay, Cody Simpson, One Drop (Cirque du Solei), Demi Lovato, Tyler Shaw, as well as Dr. Holly Branson (daughter of Sir Richard Branson). The event was geared incredibly well at youth to inspire a call to change. They did not simply rely on the powerful words of larger than life celebrities, but also on the larger than life people who provided wonderful life examples of the power of change.

I was also inspired by Justice Sinclair, Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Manitoba’s first Aboriginal Judge.

Spencer West, a double amputee that climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. He is a motivational speaker and Free The Children ambassador.

Molly Burke, the inspiring visually impaired motivational Me to We speaker.

Also local political figures Vancouver Mayor Gregor Roberts and B.C. Premiere Christy Clark

Marc and Craig Kielburger, founders of WeDay.

We Day is more than just one day of celebration and inspiration. We Day is the movement of our time – a movement of young people leading local and global change.
