Fitness Model and MMA practitioner Levente Mihalik

I recently shot the aspiring Vancouver fitness model and GSP (Georges St. Pierre) near dead ringer, Levente Mihalik. It was a little chilly that day in my studio due to a problem with my heater, so Levente did what he does... He brought the heat(er). Note to other models and such, when lugging around portable heaters, unplug them well before pack up time. HOT!

As stated, GSP, I mean Levente, is also an MMA practitioner. Though at this time, he has no desire to pursue it as a profession.  Though he has no ambitions of the UFC, he does love the incredible fitness rewards of training like a fighter. I'm pretty sure you'll agree, the hard work shows in his photos.

Commercial Fitness Photography - Tommy Europe

Recently my focus (seriously - no pun intended) photographically speaking, has shifted. Not only has there been a concerted effort made to hone in on my truest inspiration, but also to utilize more of my skill digitally. I am a Photoshop geek. I admit this and embrace it. I mean every photographer has at least some kind of relationship with Photoshop, but some of us have a long standing obsession. I realized that I have been manipulating images in Adobe PS -insert versions here- for over 15 years. A 15 year marriage in this era is a pretty successful one. Well recently, I suppose Photoshop and I renewed our vows... so to speak.

My new vision for my photography is this: Commercial Advertising - Specializing in Athletes & Musicians.

With this vision comes my desire to use my gifts and skills as an experienced image manipulator. With this specific mindset I am able to really be the best photographer and image creator I can be. I use HDR, lighting and Photoshop all as one package to deliver WOW factor images that are impossible under any other circumstance. I am looking to deliver a pinch of real, with a good dash of surreal. My hope is that this results in images that can only be considered UNREAL!

Here is an example of some of my new work with CFL champ, award winning personal trainer, SliceTV star of Bulging Brides & Last 10 Pounds Boot-camp, pro stuntman and all around great guy Tommy Europe.

WeDay Vancouver 2012

October 18, 2012 • Rogers Arena

I had the privilege of being one of the official photographers for WeDay Vancouver - 2012. It was a simply amazing, empowering, encouraging and overall uplifting event.
With a star studded line up that included: Magic Johnson, Shawn Desman, One Republic, Desmond Tutu, My name is Kay, Cody Simpson, One Drop (Cirque du Solei), Demi Lovato, Tyler Shaw, as well as Dr. Holly Branson (daughter of Sir Richard Branson). The event was geared incredibly well at youth to inspire a call to change. They did not simply rely on the powerful words of larger than life celebrities, but also on the larger than life people who provided wonderful life examples of the power of change.

I was also inspired by Justice Sinclair, Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Manitoba’s first Aboriginal Judge.

Spencer West, a double amputee that climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. He is a motivational speaker and Free The Children ambassador.

Molly Burke, the inspiring visually impaired motivational Me to We speaker.

Also local political figures Vancouver Mayor Gregor Roberts and B.C. Premiere Christy Clark

Marc and Craig Kielburger, founders of WeDay.

We Day is more than just one day of celebration and inspiration. We Day is the movement of our time – a movement of young people leading local and global change.
